Thank you Adam. True story. During the 80's and early 90's Iowa was a national leader on developing and implementing progressive, sustainable ag policies (among other good stuff). . During debates, agricultural chemical lobbyists argued there were no health concerns over pesticide or nitrogen in our water. So, for a couple of weeks, one of us (I don't remember if it was at my desk), filled a glass of water with water taken from a stream that flowed through farm areas. We asked everyone to have a drink, since it was supposedly safe.There were no takers. Perhaps, a legislator today could do the same.
